Tired girl

Reb's folks have departed for the west. Freya had a lovely time chatting with Grams, Gramps & Uncle William. Yesterday she was home sick from creche, she was boiling hot in the morning and shivering, poor chick. Reb stayed home & looked after her. This morning she was much better, and we dropped her off at creche and went to work.

This afternoon I got to creche, when one of the carers told me a funny story about how Freya was talking about her "sister Leah", who is five, has arms and legs, lives at home, and is a mouse. Apart from the last detail, it sounded very plausible! She had also drawn a picture, and when asked what one of the items was, she said "those are the consequences" - we're not even sure where she got that word! Normally Freya's a bit reluctant to leave creche if it's close to supper* time, but today I was nice and early. I got her out the front door, and then she dissolved in tears. I offered her a cuddle but she was cranky and continued to cry. We got in the car, and on the way home I said "Freya, if you're going to keep crying you will have to go into your room to calm down." We got out of the car, Freya still howling like a siren, and I asked her what she wanted to do. "Go to my room and cry!" was the answer, which she did. A few minutes later I came back to check on her and she was asleep on her bed! Poor tired girl.

Reb & I are both fairly exhausted too, after a big weekend last weekend, we didn't really have much of a rest. Lots of marking to do this weekend... bah.
